Wind Turbine Installation – Electricians
Aurora Energy is seeking Grade A qualified Electricians with Wind Turbine Experience to join our team on a casual basis for work on our project near Wellington in Central West, NSW.
Positions can be local or fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) or drive-in, drive-out (DIDO) position to provide flexibility and coverage for the varied work locations.
Roles will be available starting from January and placing through to May.
The role of the Electrical Wind Technician encompasses the installation and electrical completions, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbines at a wind farm construction site. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The Electrical Wind Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functionality of wind turbines and compliance with industry standards throughout their lifecycle.
What you’ll be doing:
- Installation of the electrical componentry of new wind turbines to handover to the client at a high standard
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on wind turbine components
- Document all work completed and maintain detailed records of turbine performance
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
- Provide technical support and mentoring to less experienced team members as required
What we’re looking for:
- Grade A Australian Certified Electrical Trade
- Proven experience in the installation of Wind Turbines, preferably in a FIFO/DIDO role
- Strong understanding of wind turbine systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work safely at heights and in remote locations
- Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules to meet the needs of the business
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- A Grade Electrical Licence – mandatory
- Current GWO
- ART trained – Highly desirable
- GE turbine experience not essential but highly desirable.
- HRWL – an advantage (RA, RI, EWP, D, HC)
