Aurora Energy Services is a specialist provider of construction, installation, maintenance and technical services within Australia’s renewable energy sector. We support major wind energy projects across the country, working with some of the world’s leading energy companies.

We operate in a fast-paced, project-based environment — and our finance team sits right at the centre of it. This is not a back-office role. You’ll work closely with operational and commercial leaders, contributing directly to how the business performs and makes decisions.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a capable Finance Analyst / Accountant to join our Sydney-based finance team of six. This is a hybrid role that blends financial accounting with operational finance support — giving you genuine breadth across month-end, project reporting, working capital and business analytics.

The role is deliberately structured for someone with ambition. You’ll work directly alongside the Finance Manager and Financial Controller, with a clear pathway toward senior finance leadership.

What’s in It for You

  • Competitive salary of $105,000 – $110,000 + super
  • Hybrid work arrangement available following onboarding
  • Work in one of Australia’s fastest-growing sectors — renewable energy
  • Exposure to large-scale wind energy project finance
  • Direct access to senior finance leadership (CFO, Financial Controller)
  • Active contribution to finance transformation and systems improvement (NetSuite, Power BI)
  • Defined career pathway toward Finance Manager or Financial Controller

What You’ll Do

Your responsibilities will span four core areas:

Financial Accounting & Month-End Close

• Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations

• Support month-end close, fixed asset and lease accounting processes

• Assist with BAS, statutory reporting and external audit support

• Maintain financial data integrity within NetSuite

Accounts Receivable & Working Capital

• Prepare and issue customer invoices; manage debtor collections

• Monitor unbilled revenue and WIP balances

• Support weekly cashflow forecasting and DSO improvement initiatives

Project Finance & Operational Support

• Assist with project reporting, revenue recognition and margin analysis

• Maintain variation and claim tracking registers

• Support operational leaders with financial insights and forecast updates

Reporting, Analytics & Systems

• Prepare weekly and monthly reporting packs and KPI dashboards

• Support Power BI and reporting automation initiatives

• Contribute to NetSuite optimisation and finance process improvement

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• 3–6 years’ experience in accounting, finance or commercial finance

• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills

• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and month-end processes

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with operational stakeholders

Highly regarded:

• Experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering or project-based environments

• NetSuite experience

• Power BI or dashboard reporting capability

• Exposure to project accounting or revenue recognition

• Progress toward CA or CPA qualification

You’re commercially curious, detail-oriented and not content to just close the books. You want to understand what the numbers mean, improve how they’re produced, and be genuinely useful to the business. You thrive in environments where things move quickly and no two weeks look the same.
