About the role:
Due to rapid growth and a strong pipeline of client
projects, we are currently looking for a Electro-Optics (EO) Engineer/Scientist
to join our on-site team at Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG)
Edinburgh. This varied role would see you working with with Senior EO Engineers
to take on a range of tasks, including:
- Design, development and testing of complex EO sensors and
system.
- Development of various engineering and research artefacts
such as test reports, calibration procedures, etc.
- Support the integration of sensors and systems into third
party products.
- Support experimentation outcomes with EO sensors and
systems.
- Collaboration with various teams and clients to achieve
shared outcomes.
About you:
- Bachelors degree in Physics, Engineering, Science or a
related discipline.
- Hold a current NV1 clearance, or able to obtain one.
- Experience with EO systems.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Matlab.
- Experience generating technical reports.
- Experience designing optical systems using Zemax (or other
optical design tools) is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Mandatory Requirements:
Due to a requirement to be eligible for a NV1 security
clearance, Australian Citizenship is required.
Must be able to access controlled information under the
International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR).
