Ascot Group is seeking experienced Qualified Carpenter to join our team in Sydney. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing various wooden structures, fixtures, and fittings. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects working around Greater Sydney.
What you’ll be doing
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements
- Measure, cut, and assemble wooden components to construct structures such as walls, floors, roofs, and staircases
- Ideally has plastering skills
- Install and repair cabinets, shelves, doors, windows, and other wooden fixtures
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to complete tasks
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and plumbers, to ensure seamless project coordination
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all safety protocols
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as a Carpenter, with a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the industry, preferably in commercial work
- Strong technical skills in reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, and assembling wooden components
- Proficiency in the use of power tools and hand tools, with a focus on safety
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address challenges on the job
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with other tradespeople
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and organised work environment
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
