Role
We are looking for an experienced Steel Fixer- Leading Hand who will supervise and lead a work crew to achieve set work targets and deadlines in a safe, compliant and productive manner. The Steel Fixer Leading Hand will ensure accurate reading and execution of the reinforcement works of the precast panels as per approved IFC shop drawing details and are responsible for supervising the work crew in installing and fixing together the steel bars and mesh used to strengthen concrete during construction of concrete panels.

Responsibilities
Supervise Steel Fixing work crew to maintain proper, safe and disciplined conduct and a productive work environment
Manage production and resources to achieve assigned production targets within efficient manhours / M2 rate as directed by the Operations Manager
Reading and interpreting precast approved shop drawings (IFC).
Assist with QA procedures to reach full compliance
Liaise with QA Engineer for additional REO arrangement in critical sections of the panel to avoid damage during tilting up the panels.
Daily recording of all MNHRS spent on each panel projects wise as requested by the Panel birth certificate
Accurately maintaining correct concrete cover of reinforcement.
Manage tools, machinery, materials and consumables
Coordinate with the Operations Manager and Production Engineer to understand and achieve targets and deadlines
Requirements
Minimum 5-10+ years Precast Construction Industry experience
Experience in a supervision / leadership role, leading teams to deliver outcomes
Excellent knowledge and interpretation of shop drawings, specifications, quality standards and requirements
Skills in knowledge of legislation and ability to influence safety culture and the ability to identify hazards and assess risk
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills
Effective conflict resolution, problem solving and decision-making skills
White card / construction induction card, Current driver licence, Forklift licence
