Summary:

The Senior Procurement and Contracts Specialist plays a crucial role in the utilities sector, ensuring the effective management of procurement processes and contract negotiations. This position is vital for optimising supply chain efficiency and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, ultimately contributing to the organisation’s operational success in Brisbane, Queensland.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organisational goals.
Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies in all procurement activities.
Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships to ensure quality and reliability.
Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
Lead contract negotiations to secure favourable terms and conditions.
Provide training and support to junior procurement staff as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and contract management, preferably within the utilities sector.
Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier relationships.
Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements in procurement.
