The Tasmanian Catholic Schools Parents Council acts under the support of the Archdiocese of Hobart. The Archdiocese of Hobart is the expression of the Catholic Church in Tasmania.

The Tasmanian Catholic Schools Parents Council (TCSPC) is currently seeking an: Executive Officer – Permanent Part Time – 2 days per week

The TCSPC is the peak body of Tasmanian Catholic School Parents’. The Council is a collaborative and representative organisation dedicated to promoting and supporting accessible, quality education for all children in Catholic school communities.

As Executive Officer you will:

  • Work collaboratively with the TCSPC to achieve the objectives specified in the constitution by maintaining the relationship and providing leadership and working strategically with a range of networks.
  • Provide advice and response to all levels of government and other relevant parties.
  • Represent the Council or Deputise for the Chair when required and as directed by the President.
  • Have an understanding of the Education and Catholic Education environment in Tasmania at state and national levels.
  • Understanding of the political structure of both Tasmania and Federally, as well as an understanding of national and state parent bodies, and catholic schools/colleges’ parents and friends within the Archdiocese of Hobart.

What you bring to the role:

  • Extensive experience and demonstrated capacity to communicate and work collaboratively with a range of networks.
  • An understanding of and commitment to the role of parents and care givers in the education of their children.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high level advice, advocacy, negotiation and the ability to contribute to policy development.
  • Ability to work some outside normal hours of work.
