With our recent expansion and continuous growth, we seek a highly motivated Procurement Manager to join our team and contribute to our vision of revolutionising the industry.

As the Procurement Manager at Applied Robotics, you are pivotal in managing procurement activities and supply chain operations for robotics projects and technologies. Leveraging your expertise in procurement, vendor management, and knowledge of the robotics industry, you ensure the efficient sourcing and acquisition of high-quality components, equipment, and services. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and manufacturers, you optimize the procurement process, reduce costs, and drive operational excellence in robotics projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Strategy and Planning:

Develop and implement a strategic procurement plan aligned with Applied Robotics’ goals and project requirements.

Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate favorable contracts.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop procurement plans accordingly.

2. Supplier Relationship Management:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors in the robotics industry.

Assess and evaluate supplier performance, monitor adherence to contract terms, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to secure the best value for Applied Robotics.

3. Procurement Process Optimization:

Streamline and optimize procurement processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with procurement policies and regulations.

Implement innovative tools and technologies to automate and enhance procurement workflows, data analysis, and reporting.

Identify and exploit cost-saving opportunities, such as bulk purchasing, supplier consolidation, and strategic contract negotiations.

4. Contract Management:

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring legal compliance, risk mitigation, and favorable terms.

Monitor and manage contract performance, enforce compliance, and swiftly address any contract-related issues or disputes.

Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Establish rigorous quality standards and specifications for procured components, equipment, and services in the robotics industry.

Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure consistent compliance with quality standards, conduct periodic audits, and proactively address any non-compliance issues.

Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to procurement and supply chain management in the robotics industry.

6. Data Analysis and Reporting:

Gather, analyze, and derive actionable insights from procurement data, supplier performance metrics, and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvement, and risk mitigation.

Prepare comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders at Applied Robotics, providing valuable insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Industry experience is a bonus, but this can be taught to the right applicant

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data and provide valuable insights.

• Familiarity with project management software

• Proficiency in Microsoft software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Additional Information

This is an existing role from which the current Procurement Manager is moving into project management, so you will have a mentor to guide you into the role. Training and career progression are available from this position into many different roles, with current electrical engineers, mechanical designers and project managers all using this role as a stepping stone.

This role can be completed with a combination of flexible work arrangement and onsite work, depending on where specific projects are in the manufacturing phase.
