Description

Apex Building Products is looking for a hands-on warehouse person supporting our store manager across inventory control, purchasing, customer service and daily operations. We are looking for someone who is equally happy to drive a forklift and collaborate with our finance and IT teams on process and systems improvements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Pick, prepare and dispatch customer orders
  • Serve trade and pickup customers professionally and efficiently
  • Operate forklifts safely and assist with loading/unloading
  • Maintain accurate inventory and stock control within SAP (our warehouse software)
  • Assist with purchasing and procurement of stock
  • Monitor stock levels and identify shortages or discrepancies
  • Organise and maintain the store area to a high standard
  • Coordinate incoming goods and stock put-aways
  • Support the store manager with daily operational task
  • Once training is completed successfully and suitability proven, take over as 2IC when store manager is offsite
  • Collaborate with Finance and IT teams on improving warehouse and inventory processes & systems

 

About You

  • Strong hands-on experience as a storeperson or warehouse operator
  • Solid computer skills and experience working with warehouse software (SAP preferred)
  • Comfortable balancing manual warehouse work with administrative duties
  • Organised and proactive with good attention to detail
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Strong team player with a natural tendency to take the lead if needed
  • Current forklift licence essential
