We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and reliable Night Shift Forklift/Loader Operator to join our Structural Steel team based in Direk, South Australia. Responsibilities:
- Operating a variety of forklifts, including multi directional units
- Load delivery vehicles in a timely, safe and efficient manner, including manual handling
- Verify the accuracy of shipments against packing lists and dispatch dockets
- Ensure the proper handling and storage of goods to prevent damage.
- Maintain an organised work area and adhere to safety protocols during loading operations
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to facilitate smooth operations
- Inspect all loaded items for quality assurance before departure
- Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor immediately
- Pick goods for order fulfilment
- General warehouse duties as requested at times
Requirements:
- A strong understanding of OHS and warehouse safety requirements
- Previous experience in the steel or manufacturing industry (highly desirable)
- Current Forklift Licence (LF) (necessary)
- Gantry Crane Licence (CB) (highly desirable)
- Experience using scanners and inventory systems
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
- Good communication skills – verbal and written
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- A positive attitude, with a proactive and safety-first mindset
