The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, we are recruiting two full‑time State Managers to join our national Franchise Performance team:
- 1 x Ongoing Permanent role
- 1 x 12‑month Fixed‑Term Contract
Both roles offer the same scope, expectations and impact, supporting a portfolio of franchisees across the Anytime Fitness network.
The Role
As a State Manager, you will partner closely with franchisees to improve unit‑level profitability, operational performance and member experience. This is a relationship‑first, commercially focused role built on trust, credibility and insight. You will work hands‑on with franchisees to understand their businesses, coach them through challenges and drive practical actions that lead to stronger financial outcomes and more engaged members. You will be highly visible in clubs, embedding operational excellence, brand standards and a consistent, member‑centric approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong, trusted relationships with franchisees to support sustainable business success
- Coach and challenge franchisees to drive unit‑level profitability, sales growth and performance
- Conduct regular club visits, audits, business reviews and peer sessions
- Analyse financial and operational performance and guide improvement actions
- Support execution of business plans aligned to network growth strategies
- Drive consistent operational standards, compliance and brand excellence
- Promote member‑centric operations that enhance engagement, retention and experience
- Deliver operational, compliance and leadership training
- Champion continuous improvement and effective use of systems and tools
Experience & About You
You are a commercially savvy coach or multi‑site operator who understands how strong relationships, disciplined execution and member‑centric thinking drive long‑term success. You build trust quickly, communicate with confidence, and influence outcomes without authority. You enjoy working autonomously in the field and thrive in a role where impact is visible at a club and franchisee level.
Technical Ability
- Experience supporting franchisees or multi‑site operations (desirable)
- Proven ability to drive unit‑level profitability and business performance
- Strong financial literacy, including budgeting, reporting and analysis
- Sound understanding of operational systems, compliance and customer service standards
- Experience executing business plans and growth strategies
- Ability to identify performance gaps and implement practical improvements
- Confident trainer and facilitator of best practice
- Proficiency in CRM systems, reporting platforms and Microsoft Office
