Animalius Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse to step into a Surgical Coordinator role—ideal for someone who enjoys the organisational and administrative side of surgical care while still staying connected to the clinical environment. 

 

We are dedicated to supporting veterinarians and their patients by streamlining access to specialist services. This is a key position supporting the smooth running of our surgery department. 

 

About the Role 

As Surgical Coordinator, you will be responsible for the administrative and operational flow of the surgery department. 

 

This includes coordinating cases, managing surgical bookings, and ensuring accurate billing and documentation—working closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and client services. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate daily surgical schedules and bookings  
  • Manage patient admissions and surgical workflows  
  • Oversee billing, invoicing, and charge capture for surgical cases  
  • Liaise with vets, nurses, and client services to ensure smooth case progression  
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment sheets 
  • Support communication with clients regarding procedures, estimates, and follow-ups  
  • Assist in improving systems and processes within the surgery department  

About You 

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Veterinary Nursing  
  • Previous experience in surgical nursing or hospital coordination  
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills  
  • High attention to detail, particularly with billing and documentation  
  • Confident communicator with both clients and team members  
  • Able to prioritise and manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment  
  • Interest in workflow optimisation and process improvement
