DUTIES
The Aquaculture Attendant serves as a support to the Team Leader, assuming responsibility for supervising and directing the team as necessary at their designated bay. They are tasked with efficiently leading various farming duties, including shed and lease operations, oyster husbandry, and also contributing to daily tasks, data entry, and understanding the lease layout. This role requires someone dynamic and physically capable, adept at working collaboratively with colleagues and demonstrating confident leadership. We seek a motivated individual with a “Can Do” attitude to fulfil this position.
Daily responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Vessel pre-start and preparation
Coordination of loading and Launching of vessel
Water tasks ensuring team is adhering to quality standards set by Team Leader
Constant communication between Team Leader and crew in the water to foster safety and efficiency
Coordinate vessel unloading and chiller organization
Support Team Leader with paperwork and vessel operation when required
Stock deployment and harvest
Oyster farming, including animal husbandry and lease maintenance
Operate Oyster farm machinery and equipment
General vessel and equipment maintenance
Operations of equipment (forklifts, grading equip.)
Essential Criteria:
Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
Interest or previous experience related to the aquaculture industry
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with fellow team members
Have a Valid Driver’s Licence
LOCATIONS
Angel Seafood runs multi-bay operations across the Eyre Peninsula. Our site in Cowell is home for our spat nursery and year old juvenile stock before they are shipped out to our grow-out site at Haslam (near Streaky Bay), or onto Coffin Bay our finishing site. This position is for our Haslam site.
REMUNERATION
Remuneration will be dependent on the role you take and reflect the skills and experience you bring to the company, with opportunities for training and career development in the Aquaculture Industry.
Salary from $60,000.00 to $70,200.00 per year plus Superannuation
