Description

Can you book meetings from a cold list? Real question — not just sound polite on the phone, but actually pick up, get past the gatekeeper, and have someone say “yes, send me a time.”

If that’s you, here’s what’s on offer: $35.15/hr + $50 per meeting + up to $750 per deal closed. 3 mornings a week. Brighton office, on the Sandringham line.

This role isn’t about reading a script. I’m looking for someone with real experience behind them — whether that’s a sales career, years of professional client-facing work, or any background where you’ve learned how to have a real conversation. You know how to talk to a business owner. You can read a conversation. You handle rejection without taking it personally.

Who this suits:

  • Someone returning to work who wants solid income in hours that fit around family or other commitments
  • A semi-retired sales professional with extensive experience, looking for something meaningful and part-time
  • Anyone with genuine phone skills who prefers part-time work with real earning upside to a full-time grind

The money:

  • $35.15/hr base (casual, fortnightly EFT, Clerks Award Level 2)
  • $50 per meeting you book that actually happens
  • $200–$750 close bonus when that meeting turns into a signed client — paid on the customer’s first invoice
  • No cap. You close it, we pay it.

At 12 hours a week and decent conversion, realistic earnings are $900–$1,200/week. Strong callers make more.

The setup:

  • 3 mornings a week, roughly 10am–2pm. Monday to Friday, flexible on which days — we’ll agree a pattern that works around your life.
  • Our Brighton office — the train station car park is literally our back door. 2 minutes off the Sandringham line. No parking stress.
  • You sit near me (the owner). I listen to how calls are going from the next desk, offer coaching between dials, answer questions in real time. You will get genuinely better at this.
  • Desk, dual monitor, good headset, CRM, prospect lists, call framework — all provided. Turn up and call.

What BaseHost actually does:

We manage IT for small and medium Australian businesses — cybersecurity, productivity tools, device and identity management, and the helpdesk function that keeps their team productive. Real product, real clients, genuine value. You’ll be calling business owners who have real IT pain and will be glad someone is helping them solve it.

You, probably:

  • Have phone-based sales, customer service, or professional client work in your background — this doesn’t need to be recent
  • Articulate, warm, and good at reading people
  • Take rejection in stride — it doesn’t shake you
  • Reliable. If you say you’ll be in Tuesday, you’re in Tuesday
  • Comfortable learning modern CRM and phone software (or willing to — I’ll teach you)
  • Right to work in Australia
