Role
Description:
Working
under the leadership of the Health Systems Manager, to assist AMSANT Member
Services to
effectively
integrate and utilise digital health technology with the aim of improving
clinical work, data
integrity
and accurate reporting for both improved clinical management and health
outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice, information and leadership to
Members and other ACCHS on clinical information systems (CIS) and digital
health initiatives and how they affect best practice in a PHC setting.
- Support effective digital health technology usage
for Members through the provision of hands-on assistance, advice and
information, identify training needs and help to facilitate/coordinate
solutions to problems.
- Work with Members and CIS vendors to modify their
programs so that they are functional tools adapted to local needs, best
clinical practice in a PHC setting and enhanced interface with both local and
national digital health initiatives.
- Facilitate the AMSANT digital health network and an
annual digital health workshop for the sector to both identify issues and
disseminate information to Members, including contributing to monthly newsletters,
regular network emails and updating of content on the website.
- On behalf of AMSANT liaise with relevant government
agencies at local, State/Territory and Commonwealth levels on CIS and digital
health related issues.
- Membership of relevant digital health working
groups and committees including the AMSANT Communicare user group, selected NT
and National Digital Health Steering Groups.
- Work closely with the Australian Digital Health
Agency to ensure compliance with national legislation, implement new
technology, provide advice on the My Health Record functionality, uptake and outcomes,
and provide a voice for ACCHS.
- Attend AMSANT staff and program meetings and undertake
other duties as required.
Selection Criteria
(Qualifications & Attributes)
Essential
- Demonstrated
capacity and experience in managing digital solutions and patient information
systems in a primary health care related context
- Demonstrated
ability and experience in contributing to and participating in digital health
projects.
- Demonstrated
analytical and conceptual skills, especially the ability to present complex
ideas and situations in a straightforward manner.
- Proven
verbal and written communication skills suited to a cross-cultural environment
and communication with government and other non-government organisations.
- Demonstrated
understanding and respect for Aboriginal culture and politics and the ability
to take direction from Aboriginal management and work co-operatively in a
cross-cultural environment.
- The ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people via a knowledge of
who to approach and how; an ability to gain the trust and confidence of clients
and co-workers; a knowledge of cultural conventions and appropriate behaviour.
- An awareness of the history and role of Aboriginal organizations in the Northern
Territory, an understanding of their history and goals, and knowledge of the
environment in which these organizations operate.
- Ability to work responsibly without close supervision including the capacity to plan
and use time effectively when working on several tasks at once.
- Ability and willingness to lead team related tasks to benefit the organisation.
Desirable
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a health, education, management, or related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of issues pertaining to Indigenous primary health care.
Additional information:
- Original qualifications must be available for viewing and copies to be
kept on personnel file.
- Applications must have an Ochre Card and a Current Police Check and/or
ability to obtain these prior to commencement.
- Applicants must be able and willing to undertake travel throughout the NT
and Interstate (sometimes as a light aircraft passenger) and possess a C class
Driver’s Licence.
