with a disability and have been part of the Bendigo community for over 35 years. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced generalist Accountant to join our Finance team. We are seeking someone with a high degree of attention to detail, who possesses a collaborative, can-do attitude and thrives in a team environment.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will contribute to:
- Financial Processing & Reporting
- Leading Accounts Receivable (including sales invoicing and debtor management)
- Leading Accounts Payable
- IT Administration
- End of month processes and journals
- End-to-end payroll processes (backfill)
Key Selection Criteria:
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with a strong understanding of financial processing, reporting, and payroll systems.
- Strong understanding of employee entitlements, legislation and payroll compliance.
- High-level financial literacy with the ability to prepare, analyse, and interpret financial reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial transactions and record-keeping.
- Strong problem-solving skills to resolve financial discrepancies, complex accounting issues and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in financial software and the ability to improve financial processes to drive efficiency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to concisely communicate financial information to various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information appropriately.
- Knowledge of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) and NDIS Pricing Guide is highly regarded.
You Will Need:
- Minimum qualification of degree in finance or business-related discipline with relevant experience. CA or CPA highly desirable.
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence (desired)
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- NDIS Worker’s Orientation Module – ‘Quality Safety and You’
- Working with Children’s Check
- International Police Check (if applicable)
This position is paid under the SCHADS Award starting at Level 5.1 and paid at a level in line with experience. Salary Packaging of up to $18,550 available, as well as access to the Employee
Assistance Program.
