With continued growth in our Major & Complex Loss portfolio, we’re seeking an experienced Project Manager/2IC to support our senior leadership team and contribute to the successful delivery of high‑value, complex projects. This full‑time Melbourne‑based role offers an attractive remuneration package.

About the Role

As the Project Manager/2IC, you will ensure seamless delivery of major insurance repair projects. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys problem‑solving and is ready to step into a trusted second‑in‑command position.

You’ll assist with project oversight from planning through to completion, coordinate internal and external teams, and act as a key point of contact for clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Project Manager in delivering major projects from initiation to completion.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Contribute to risk management and proactively resolve project challenges.
  • Assist with procurement and monitor tools, materials and equipment.
  • Review scopes, deliverables and cost estimates to support profitable outcomes.
  • Prepare internal and external project status reports.
  • Support contract drafting, negotiation and permit/licence acquisition.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership and support to the project team, stepping up when required.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations and safety standards.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager or Senior Site/Construction Supervisor.
  • Qualification in Construction Management or Building & Construction.
  • Relevant state Builders Licence.
  • Full, valid driver’s licence.
  • Insurance repair experience (highly desirable).
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project management principles.
  • Proven ability to deliver major projects on time, within budget and to client expectations.
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations and OH&S legislation.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Excel and construction scheduling platforms.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • High integrity, collaborative mindset and commitment to quality.
