We’re looking for a Credit Analyst to join our high-performing credit team and support the continued growth of our lending and investment operations.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Credit, you’ll play a key role in managing the day to day workflow of the Credit team and supporting the Head of Credit in delivering high quality, timely credit assessments across AltX Financial Group.

This role blends hands on credit work with leadership responsibilities. You’ll review complex files, provide guidance and mentorship to the Credit Analysts, and support Business Development Managers to understand credit requirements and optimise deal outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage the daily workflow of credit assessments to ensure timely review and clear prioritisation across the portfolio
  • Provide guidance, coaching and technical support to Credit Analysts and offshore Credit Administration to uplift their credit decisioning skills and quality of submissions
  • Support Business Development Managers with scenarios, preliminary deal reviews, and policy interpretation
  • Conduct and review credit assessments, including complex files, across mortgages, bridging loans, private lending and construction/development scenarios
  • Approve applications with DLA
  • Prepare and present credit submissions to Credit Committee where deals are above DLA
  • Identify workflow or process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency
  • Provide internal stakeholder coordination with respect to BDMs, Credit and Settlements

  • The Credit team operates smoothly with clear workflow, timely decisions, and minimal bottlenecks
  • You’re a trusted go to person for both Analysts and BDMs for practical credit guidance
  • You uphold strong risk discipline while showing commercial awareness
  • You foster positive collaboration with distribution and operations teams

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience in credit roles within banking, non bank lending or private lending
  • Credit assessment experience across mortgage and bridging loans is essential with experience in private lending, development and construction finance advantageous
  • A solid understanding of the Australian property market and lending landscape
  • Experience supporting team capability development
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Clear, concise written communication, particularly for credit papers
  • Confident stakeholder engagement with the ability to influence and guide
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong organisation, time management and ability to manage competing priorities
  • A pragmatic, solutions oriented, client focused mindset
