Due to a promotion, we are seeking a Cloud Engineer responsible for managing and supporting Allied Credit Group’s IT infrastructure and associated services, primarily hosted on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. The role leverages secure DevOps practices, with a strong emphasis on security, automation, scalability, and cost optimisation across the infrastructure and services landscape.
The Cloud Engineer will contribute to both business-as-usual (BAU) operations and project-based
initiatives, while supporting broader IT objectives across security, applications, data, and business enablement.

What you will be doing
- Providing day to day technical support for the Azure Cloud platform and services and following
ITIL best practices including Incident, Change and Problem Management.
- Implementing Azure-based infrastructure and services in alignment with security frameworks
including AWF and Essential 8.
- Ensuring security of the infrastructure platforms and associated services are regularly hardened, patched, maintained and updated.
- Leveraging appropriate tools to monitor Azure cloud, network and infrastructure components,
identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Developing and deploying infrastructure as code leveraging tooling such as Azure DevOps, Bicep, ARM and Terraform.
- Working closely with other IT Teams and business units to understand their needs and facilitate capabilities with a focus on automation. Collaborating with application and DevOps teams on CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Working with MSPs that provide IT services for Allied Credit Group to ensure ongoing operational management and delivery in line with the contracts in place.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for standard operational practices (SOPs), configuration, processes and troubleshooting that aligns to operational standards.
Your background
- Relevant tertiary IT qualification with AZ-104 certification and industry experience.
- Foundational experience in a similar role with knowledge configuring and managing Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services to meet financial services requirements.
- Knowledge of networking, identity management and cloud security principles.
- Experience supporting Azure services including Azure Active Directory (AAD), Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Key Vault, Azure Firewall, Azure Policy etc.
- Experience administering, supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows (IaaS) environments, Active Directory, File/Print, MSSQL and Internet Services, such as zScaler.
- Experience with developing IaC, leveraging tools including Azure DevOps, Terraform or Bicep.
- Experience with cloud recovery tooling and techniques, such as backup and restore.
- Experience with Azure cloud system monitoring, performance optimisation and troubleshooting tools, such as Azure Monitor to proactively identify and remediate potential issues.
- Skills with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bicep, Terraform, Python etc).
- Demonstrated ability to work in a rapid-moving, high paced organisation.
- Familiarity with compliance and governance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR).
- Thorough understanding and experience with ITIL processes, including incident, change, problem and configuration management.
- Must be proactive, self-motivated and have a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
