Please note, this is a maximum term role concluding 31 December 2027.
An Employment Specialist’s day may consist of the following:
- Business development to increase opportunities for Real Futures
- Build and maintain effective relationships with new and existing employer
- Negotiate and secure guaranteed employment positions for our Aspirants
- Facilitate site visits of aspirants commencing employment
- Assist and prepare aspirants with non-vocational support and skills
- Provide mentoring and support to employers and aspirants
- Data entry, reporting and compliance
- Undertake relevant performance reviews, development and training as required
- Promoting Cultural competence training and support to employers and workplaces
Knowledge/Skills
- Demonstrated experience in Business Development activities
- Knowledge of the local labour market conditions
- Demonstrated ability to connect and provide support to Aboriginal aspirants
- Understanding of Aboriginal people and the issues they face
- Knowledge of relevant government programs and funding opportunities
- Computer literacy – word, excel, CRM and database entry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of workplace requirements
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Well-developed problem-solving skills.
- Tertiary Qualifications in Administration, Human Services, Business, Marketing, Employment Services, or associated fields (Desirable)
- Knowledge and experience of Employment Services System (ESS) (Desirable)
- Case management and job active/employment services experience (Desirable)

To be considered you must…
- Have full working rights in Australia
- Have a current driver’s licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle
- Complete an Australia History Criminal Check
- Have a current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain a Working with Children Check before employment
- Ability to work Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 5:00pm
