About the role
As an Analyst you will work closely with the General Manager – Development Finance, senior credit team members, clients and brokers to support origination, analysis, structuring and execution of property development lending transactions across a diverse portfolio including residential, commercial, industrial and land subdivisions for loans up to $40m.
You will assess development opportunities, perform feasibility / financial modelling, research and conduct market and risk analysis whilst assisting in positioning/preparing credit submissions and transaction documentation.
Key Activities
• Support the evaluation of new real estate debt opportunities, from initial land acquisition, through construction to bridging finance for residual stock.
• Maintain and improve financial models used to assess development feasibility, debt serviceability, covenant compliance and scenario analysis.
• Assist in preparing and supporting credit papers and other internal documentation for credit committee approval.
• Conduct market research and property-level due diligence to support underwriting decisions.
• Liaise with internal teams (Credit, Construction, Originations, Operations) and external stakeholders (clients, sponsors, brokers, valuers, solicitors, surveyors) during the transaction process. Take ownership of the process to financial close representing the Assetline Capital brand.
• Contribute to the improvement of team processes, tools, and best practices.
• Provide administrative and client support to the General Manager – Development Finance.
o Deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring appropriate client support, deal assessment, pipeline management and follow ups.
o Ensure deals are correctly packaged and all documents are provided to the credit team as per policy and procedure.
o Answer queries from BDMs and brokers
o Accurately enter and maintain Salesforce in respect of deals assigned
Skills & experiences you’ll bring the team
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related discipline
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in banking, non-banking, private credit, corporate finance, real estate investment, or financial services
• Working knowledge of the banking industry, Australian housing market, and regulatory environment
• Strong analytical and numeracy skills with a high attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word
• Proficiency or understanding of industry standard feasibility modelling such as Estate Master would be advantageous
• Clear and concise written communication skills
• Confidence in dealing with external stakeholders
• Customer-centric and solutions focused, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external Assetline Capital customers
• Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with part of a team
• Self-motivated with a desire to continually exceed expectations
