Disability Support Worker – Complex In-Home Care

Advance Disability Services and Respite (ADSR) is seeking a capable and experienced Disability Support Worker to provide complex in-home support to a participant in Rouse Hill.
This role is suited to a support worker who is confident managing complex medical and behavioural needs, comfortable working independently, and committed to delivering safe, consistent and person-centred care.

Demonstrated experience supporting participants with complex medical, behavioural, and personal care needs.
The Role
You will provide direct in-home support to a participant with complex care requirements. The successful applicant must be confident implementing structured care plans and responding appropriately to medical or behavioural escalations where required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including accurate and concise reporting.

Administering medication in accordance with policy and care plans
Implementing seizure management protocols
Performing safe manual handling, including transfers and mobility support
Operating a wheelchair-accessible vehicle with lift equipment
Supporting community participation and activities of daily living
Completing accurate and timely progress notes and incident documentation
Following behaviour support plans and applying positive behaviour strategies
Understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and safeguarding principles.
Proficiency in using digital systems for administering medication and documenting care.
This position requires professionalism, strong judgement and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Employment Type and Shifts
This is a casual position.
Shifts will vary in line with participant needs and operational requirements and may include day, afternoon and weekend shifts.
While there may be opportunities for ongoing regular shifts, hours are not guaranteed and will be offered based on service demand. Flexibility and availability across multiple days will be highly regarded.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate:

Proven experience supporting participants with complex needs
Strong manual handling competency
Experience operating wheelchair-accessible vehicles, including lift equipment
Current First Aid and CPR certification
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain)
Current Driver’s Licence
Confidence using digital systems for documentation and reporting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Applicants without demonstrated complex-care experience will not be considered.
Desirable

Certificate IV in Disability or a related qualification
Experience in complex in-home support environments
Understanding of positive behaviour support frameworks
