About the Role
This role is responsible for developing, overseeing, and assisting in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for UTS Bats AFC (Women’s), one of our flagship high-performance programs. You’ll also support athletes within the UTS Elite Athlete Program and contribute to other high-performance sports across the organisation, including cricket, rugby, water polo, netball, and basketball.
This is a casual position offering approximately 4–10 hours per week, depending on seasonal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Role – UTS Bats AFC (Women’s Premier & Lower Divisions)
- Plan and deliver tailored strength and conditioning programs.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, and external stakeholders on training loads, injuries, and rehabilitation.
- Monitor athlete performance using GPS and related systems to inform program design.
- Support team training sessions and game preparation in alignment with club and coaching objectives.
Secondary Roles / Other High-Performance Sports
Assist across other UTS high-performance programs, including:
- UTS Bats AFC (Men’s)
- UTS North Sydney Bears (Cricket)
- UTS Balmain Tigers (Water Polo)
- UTS Randwick Sparks (Netball)
- Gordon Rugby
- UTS Basketball
- UTS Elite Athlete Program and Intervarsity Sport
Support and guide coaches in the planning and implementation of programs for their respective sports.Contribute to the continuous development of a high-performance coaching environment.Availability Requirements
Pre-Christmas:
- Monday PM – Field & Gym (6–8pm)
- Thursday PM – Field & Gym (6–8pm)
- Additional sessions as required.
Post-Christmas (From 20 January):
- Monday PM – Gym (Moore Park, 6pm TBC)
- Tuesday PM – Field (6:30–8:30pm)
- Thursday PM – Field (6:30–8:30pm)
- Saturday AM – Game Day (in-season)
- Additional sessions depending on seasonal and sport requirements.
Training venues include Bat and Ball Oval, Trumper Oval, and Waverley Synthetic.
About You
You are an energetic and knowledgeable Strength & Conditioning Coach with a passion for athlete development and high-performance sport. You thrive in a collaborative environment and can balance the demands of multiple programs with professionalism and initiative.
Essential Criteria
- Relevant Strength & Conditioning qualifications.
- Experience in AFL S&C or strong understanding of the sport’s physical demands.
- Proven ability to develop and implement evidence-based S&C programs.
- Experience working in high-performance sporting environments.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to show initiative, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team.
- Awareness and respect for cultural diversity.
Desirable
- Degree in Sport Science or related discipline.
- ASCA Level 1 (Level 2 preferred).
