Short Summary

The People & Culture Business Partner plays a pivotal role in partnering with leaders across the organisation to shape and execute people strategies that align with business objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor, this role provides expert guidance on both strategic initiatives and day-to-day people matters. It also plays a key role in delivering People & Culture programs and policies, ensuring a consistent and positive employee experience that fosters innovation, collaboration, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Partner with business leaders to understand business needs and set the people agenda that supports business growth.
  • Leverage people data and analytics to inform strategic people decisions
  • Well-versed in the end-to-end lifecycle of people from attracting, hiring, growing, managing, to off-boarding.
  • Championing cultural alignment, helping leaders embed values, create inclusive environments, and support employee wellbeing and recognition.
  • Partnering with business leaders to providing timely, pragmatic advice on employee relations issues, including conduct, conflict resolution, absence management, and grievances, ensuring alignment with policy and legislation.
  • Supporting workforce planning and helping leaders identify future skill needs, capability gaps, and succession risks within their teams.
  • Helping to implement P&C initiatives such as engagement surveys, diversity and inclusion programs, onboarding improvements, and leadership development offerings, ensuring alignment with the unique needs of each business unit.
  • Coaching leaders and supporting their growth in areas such as giving feedback, navigating difficult conversations, leading through change, and improving team dynamics.
  • Supporting organisational change, including restructures or business transitions, by guiding leaders through the people aspects and maintaining clear and empathetic communication.
  • Mentoring the People and Culture Advisor and other members of the Global P&C team.
  • Supporting the Head of P&C with to drive improvements and automate people processes and drive focus to the HR system being the single source of truth.
  • Work closely with our global P&C team to support the delivery of various leadership and management training programmes.

Due to the international nature of the business, you may be required to attend calls outside of the normal business hours.

This is a hybrid role which includes travel to the Manchester office 3 days per week.

What experience do I need:

  • CIPD Qualified to Level 5 or equivalent
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HRBP or strategic HR role
  • Strong strategic and operational HR expertise.
  • Proven knowledge of employment law and compliance.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach to challenges.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.

  • Comfort working in ambiguity – building the plane while flying it 
  • A roll your sleeves up attitude to work in a lean team without lots of supporting technology infrastructure 
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills and stakeholder engagement skills 
  • Strengths in working as a member of a collaborative team, but comfort in being self directed and able to work autonomously as needed 
  • Great attention to detail
