TECHNICAL SALES CONSULTANT
Contract: full time 37.5 hours per week
Location: office based in St Albans with site visits as required

Role Overview
As a Sales Consultant you will be a key part of our sales team, responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities while supporting existing clients. You’ll work closely with influencers (architects, consultants, heritage bodies), main contractors, and direct clients in sectors such as offices, education and hotels. Your role will combine technical knowledge with commercial insight to secure and deliver tailored solutions and build long-term relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development and Promotion:
- Identify and engage new B2B prospects through research, networking and events.
- Promote our secondary glazing systems to influencers and decision-makers.
- Deliver tailored presentations and technical advice to generate interest and convert leads.
- Collaborate with our Estimating team to prepare proposals, negotiate and secure orders.
Client Engagement and Retention:
- Act as the main point of contact for key accounts and strategic partners ensuring a high level of service.
- Build trust with existing customers to drive repeat business.
- Understand evolving client needs and provide proactive technical support.
Technical Support & Coordination:
- Advise on product suitability based on design, acoustic, thermal and heritage requirements.
- Gather and communicate project/site data for estimating and delivery teams.
- Work closely with internal teams (Survey, Production, Installation) to ensure smooth project execution.
Collaboration & Feedback:
- Support marketing with technical input for campaigns and materials.
- Share market insights and client feedback to inform product development.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 3+ years in construction or glazing-related sales or technical roles.
- Strong understanding of building design, sustainability and heritage considerations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Proactive, customer-focused mindset with a passion for problem-solving.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays.
