Expression of Interest (EOI) – Casual Lighting Technician

About the Role

As a casual Lighting Technician, you will play a vital role in setting up and maintaining production and site lighting, ensuring we deliver exceptional performances throughout the season. Your expertise will help uphold the artistic integrity of our lighting designs while collaborating with a talented team.

This is a casual role.

The Opportunity

• Set up and operate lighting equipment for performances, both independently and as part of a team.

• Adhere to safety procedures and practices to ensure a safe working environment.

• Participate in event and venue documentation, including fault reporting and consumables management.

• Collaborate effectively with the Lighting team, including staff from the Sydney Opera House.

• Assist in daily venue maintenance and uphold the standards of artistic lighting design.

• Attend production and staff meetings, implementing directives as needed.

• Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others, complying with safety regulations.

About You

• A minimum of two years’ experience as a lighting technician or in a similar role.

• Strong understanding of venue and daily maintenance requirements for theatres or festival sites.

• Excellent organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work collaboratively technical staff under pressure.

• Knowledge of safe work practices.
