On call officer – Remote

Are you calm under pressure, highly organised, and confident making decisions in real time? We’re looking for a reliable and solutions-focused On Call (After Hours) Officer to provide operational support to our Disability Support Workers (DSWs) outside standard business hours.

About the Role

The On Call Officer provides after-hours operational support during weekdays (after hours) to ensure services continue smoothly. You’ll coordinate roster adjustments, respond to incidents, manage staffing gaps, and provide timely guidance to DSWs.

You’ll play a key part in maintaining service coverage, minimising overtime exposure, and ensuring compliance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS Award) and NDIS Quality & Safeguards requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clear, calm and professional support to DSWs and respond to urgent after-hours service matters

• Communicate effectively with families and external stakeholders to resolve issues and minimise escalation

• Adjust and allocate rosters to maintain service coverage while managing overtime and penalty exposure

• Respond to incidents in line with organisational escalation pathways, prioritising client and staff safety

• Accurately document calls, incidents and roster changes in the On Call Register

• Ensure all actions comply with organisational policies, WHS requirements, SCHADS Award conditions and NDIS standards, escalating matters where required

About You

• Calm and confident in high-pressure situations

• Highly organised with strong time-management skills

• A clear and professional communicator

• Decisive, fair, and solutions-focused

• Comfortable using rostering or workforce management systems

• Knowledgeable about NDIS requirements and award conditions (desirable)

• Experience in disability services, rostering, coordination, or team leadership will be highly regarded.

• Based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland
