This is a casual position with a clear pathway to permanent part-time after a successful 3-month period. We currently have at least two positions available.

🕘 Shift Requirements

Day Shift: 06:00 – 14:00

Non-Active Sleepover Shift: 14:00 – 06:00 (next day)

Flexible availability is essential across a 24/7 roster.

We take client compatibility seriously. Our structured onboarding includes:

  1. Interview – Assess alignment and suitability. 📅 Interviews will be held as applications are received
  2. Observation Session – 1-hour session with the client to assess comfort and compatibility.
  3. Debrief – Meet with Manager Donna to reflect and decide on next steps.
  4. Employment Offer – If successful, an offer will be extended and a contract must be signed within 24 hours.
  5. Onboarding Finalisation – All onboarding requirements must be completed within 3 days of receiving your contract offer.

  7. Professional appearance (scrubs required from first training shift)
  8. Able to maintain compassionate yet professional boundaries

🧠 Key Responsibilities & Required Experience

This role involves supporting a client with complex physical support needs. Applicants must have demonstrated experience in:

  1. Supporting a full-time power wheelchair user, including safe operation and mobility assistance
  2. Performing 1-person assist for all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): toileting, showering, dressing, grooming, and continence support
  3. Confident use of hoists, especially Pivot Hoist, following detailed manual handling plans
  4. Feeding and meal preparation, including cooking for modified dysphagia diets
  5. Administering medication and adhering to individual support plans
  6. Completing clear, factual case notes, shift reports, and incident reports
  7. Performing household tasks: cleaning, laundry, ironing, and preparing fresh, wholesome meals
  8. Driving a wheelchair-accessible vehicle (training provided) for appointments and community outings
  9. Implementing behaviour support strategies to promote emotional and mental well-being
  10. Supporting community inclusion and social engagement
  11. Understanding or willingness to learn person-centered active support
  12. Demonstrating initiative, common sense, and a proactive approach to learning

✅ Essential Requirements

  1. NDIS Worker Screening Check
  2. First Aid Certificate & CPR – current within 12 months
  3. Valid Driver’s License
  4. Medication Management Training – current within 12 months
  5. Manual Handling Training – current within 24 months
  6. Infection Prevention & Control – current within 12 months
  7. Cert III in Individual Support or equivalent
  8. Minimum 2 years’ experience (especially with hoist/manual handling)
  9. Completion of all 4 NDIS Commission eLearning Modules
  10. Non-smoker (due to client’s sensory needs)
