With significant market opportunity emerging across the state, we are seeking a driven and commercially astute Sales Account Manager to establish and grow our presence across Metro Adelaide and key regional territories.
This is a pivotal role. You will be responsible for building strong customer partnerships, expanding distribution, and driving sustainable sales growth across a diverse and high-volume wholesale general merchandise portfolio.

About the Role
The South Australia Sales Account Manager will manage and grow a portfolio of independent retail customers across metro and regional SA. This includes regular regional travel and structured call cycles.
You will focus on:
- Growing core range distribution
- Driving seasonal programs
- Increasing in-store presence and merchandising impact
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities
This is a field-based role requiring autonomy, strong planning capability, and disciplined account management.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Account Management
- Develop and strengthen relationships with independent retailers across South Australia
- Execute structured call cycles, including regional runs
- Drive in-store range expansion and improve category penetration
New Business Development
- Identify new retail opportunities across metro and regional SA
- Convert prospective accounts into long-term customers
- Expand Yatsal’s footprint in a growing and evolving market
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Deliver against state sales targets
- Execute seasonal campaigns and promotional programs
- Present new ranges and drive forward ordering
Commercial Management
- Manage budgets and sales forecasts
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends
- Provide structured reporting and insights to the National Sales Manager
Product Focus
- You will represent a broad portfolio including:
- Electrical
- Kitchen & Home
- Hardware
- Health
- Pet Products
- Automotive
- Toys & Seasonal Merchandise
What We Are Looking For
Industry Experience
- 3–5+ years’ experience in wholesale general merchandise account management
- Strong understanding of independent retail and discount variety channels
Commercial Acumen
- Strong understanding of margin, volume and promotional mechanics
- Ability to analyse sales performance and adjust strategy
- Confident negotiating and closing business
Relationship Builder
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong customer-first mindset
- Ability to influence both store owners and internal stakeholders
Self-Driven & Structured
- Able to work independently
- Highly organised with strong route planning capability
- Comfortable managing regional travel and overnight stays
Travel Requirement
- Metro Adelaide coverage
- Structured regional runs including overnight travel
- Approximately one week per cycle allocated to regional territory
