About the Role 

The Women’s & Children’s Health Nurse plays a pivotal role in delivering culturally safe, community-centred primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, children, and families. 

You will lead Yadu Health’s Immunisation and Vaccination Program, conduct holistic health assessments, support early childhood development, and work closely with Aboriginal Health Workers to strengthen engagement and health outcomes for families. 

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to): 

  • Delivering holistic health assessments, developmental milestone screening, and early intervention care planning. 

  • Leading Yadu Health’s Immunisation Program, including vaccine administration, cold chain monitoring, and accurate record-keeping. 

  • Coordinating care plans, recalls, referrals, and follow-up for women and children. 

  • Providing clinical supervision and support to Aboriginal Health Workers and Practitioners. 

  • Participating in outreach, school screening, and community health promotion activities. 

This role requires someone who is proactive, culturally respectful, and deeply aligned with our mission to support First Nations health outcomes. 

About You 

To thrive in this position, we are looking for candidates who can meet the following criteria: 

  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with minimum 5 years’ clinical experience. 

  • Experience in child health and/or women’s health settings. 

  • Nurse Immuniser qualification (or willingness to complete required course). 

  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities is highly desirable or a strong commitment to culturally safe practice.  

  • Have ongoing permanent work rights in Australia without needing employer sponsorship.  

  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
