Description

  • Mining Technical and Financial Advisory | Client-Facing Consulting Role
  • Own the analysis. Stand behind the numbers. Advise the decision.
  • Xenith is a leading consulting firm supporting the Resources, Energy and Infrastructure sectors across the full asset lifecycle. Our Advisory team works at the intersection of technical, financial and strategic decision-making — supporting corporates, investors and financiers on critical transactions and investments.
  • We are seeking a Principal Analyst – Advisory to strengthen our senior analytical capability and provide trusted, defensible advice to clients across the resources sector.
  • This is a senior, hands-on role for a highly analytical professional who is comfortable owning complex financial and technical analysis, engaging directly with clients, and contributing to high-value investment and transaction decisions.
  • The Opportunity
  • Based in Brisbane, this role is suited to an experienced mining, investment or financial advisory professional operating at Principal / Senior Consultant level.
  • You will work across a diverse portfolio of projects supporting mining companies, financial institutions, private equity, legal and accounting firms.
  • You will:
  • • Lead and deliver high-quality analytical work across advisory engagements
  • • Act as a trusted advisor to clients at technical, commercial and executive level
  • • Take ownership of complex models, assumptions and conclusions
  • • Provide senior input into transactions, valuations and investment decisions
  • • Mentor junior analysts and lift analytical standards across the team
  • This is not a coordination or reporting-only role. You will remain close to the analysis, the detail and the decisions.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Analytical Leadership & Advisory Delivery
  • • Lead and review complex financial, technical and commercial analysis
  • • Develop and interrogate financial models for mining and resource assets
  • • Apply strong judgement to assumptions, sensitivities and scenarios
  • • Ensure analytical outputs are robust, defensible and decision-ready
  • Transaction & Investment Support
  • • Support M&A transactions and investment decisions
  • • Deliver technical due diligence and expert assessments
  • • Contribute to mineral asset valuations and investment evaluations
  • • Support lenders, investors and boards with clear, evidence-based advice
  • Client Advisory & Communication
  • • Act as a client-facing advisor, presenting findings clearly and confidently
  • • Translate complex technical and financial analysis into clear insights
  • • Prepare high-quality reports, expert opinions and advisory papers
  • • Support expert witness work and independent advisory engagements
  • Mentoring & Capability Building
  • • Mentor analysts and consultants across the Advisory team
  • • Lift analytical rigour, modelling standards and commercial thinking
  • • Contribute to internal methodologies, templates and best practice
  • About You
  • You are an analytical, commercially astute professional who thrives in complex problem-solving environments.
  • You have experience as a professional analyst in or serving the mining and resources industry, preferably underpinned by demonstrable experience in a technical discipline.
  • You are comfortable standing behind your work and explaining it to sophisticated stakeholders.
  • You thrive in a client serving, demanding and dynamic consulting environment.
  • Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • • Degree in Mining Engineering, Finance, Economics, Geology or related discipline
  • • Typically 8–15+ years’ experience in mining, investment, financial or technical advisory
  • • Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • • Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability
  • • Experience across mining projects, transactions or resource investments
  • • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • • Comfortable working in a client-facing consulting environment
  • • Commercially aware, pragmatic and outcome-focused
  • Why Xenith
  • • High-trust, technically strong consulting culture
  • • Exposure to complex, high-impact advisory work
