About the Role

We’re looking for a Modern Workplace Engineer to play a central role in designing, deploying, and improving a Windows 11 Standard Operating Environment (SOE) for Federal Government clients.

This role focuses on driving the transition from Windows 10 SCCM‑based endpoint management to a cloud‑native Microsoft Intune model, aligned with the ASD Cloud Blueprint and Essential Eight maturity requirements. You’ll work closely with delivery teams, cyber specialists, and client stakeholders to ensure endpoints are secure, compliant, and continuously improving.

If you’re passionate about modern endpoint management, security, and automation — this role is for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

Modern SOE Design & Deployment

  • Design, deploy, and maintain a Windows 11 SOE aligned with Commonwealth security standards
  • Lead migration from SCCM/ConfigMgr to Microsoft Intune, including Autopilot and Entra ID join
  • Create and maintain SOE build documentation, baselines, and deployment guides
  • Manage Intune configuration profiles, compliance policies, and Windows Update for Business

Application Packaging & Application Control

  • Package, test, and deploy applications using Intune (Win32, MSIX, LOB)
  • Manage application whitelisting using Airlock Digital (or equivalent), aligned to Essential Eight
  • Maintain application inventories and packaging libraries
  • Review and manage application whitelist exceptions through structured change processes

Endpoint Security & Compliance

  • Configure Intune compliance and conditional access policies
  • Support Microsoft Defender for Endpoint configuration and alert triage
  • Identify and remediate compliance gaps and misconfigurations
  • Contribute to Essential Eight uplift initiatives (application control, patching, OS hardening)

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

  • Act as a technical escalation point for service desk and desktop teams
  • Engage directly with client stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate outcomes
  • Collaborate with project managers, cyber teams, and engineers
  • Support and mentor junior engineers

What We’re Looking For

We’re after engineers who enjoy solving real problems in secure, complex environments and bring a strong modern workplace skillset.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in modern workplace, endpoint engineering, or systems roles
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Intune (enrolment, compliance, config, apps)
  • Experience designing and deploying Windows 11 SOEs
  • Experience migrating endpoints from SCCM/ConfigMgr to Intune
  • Hands‑on experience with Airlock Digital or similar application control tooling
  • Solid understanding of ASD Essential Eight (especially application control & patching)
  • Familiarity with ISM, PSPF, and ASD Cloud Blueprint standards
  • Strong technical documentation skills
  • Clear communication and strong stakeholder engagement

Microsoft endpoint certifications are desirable, but real‑world experience matters most.

Security Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship is required
  • AGSVA Baseline or NV1 security clearance, or ability to obtain one
  • Current police check (or willingness to obtain)
