Description

Wunan Foundation is seeking a hands-on, organised Assets and Safety Coordinator to oversee the maintenance, safety, and compliance of our diverse portfolio — including clinics, community housing, hostels, commercial spaces, vehicles and equipment.

This role is vital in ensuring all facilities are well-maintained, meet statutory standards, and provide culturally safe environments that support the wellbeing of staff, tenants, and community members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and/or undertake maintenance, repairs, and minor works across multiple properties, fleet and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, building codes, and fire safety regulations through regular inspections
  • Manage contractors and suppliers to deliver timely, high-quality services
  • Maintain accurate records of assets, maintenance, and compliance activities
  • Support emergency preparedness and small-scale refurbishment projects
  • Apply cultural safety and trauma-informed principles in tenant and community engagement

About You

  • Proven experience in facilities management, property maintenance, or asset coordination.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, building compliance, and safety systems
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Sufficient computer skills for reporting and record-keeping
  • Current C Class driver’s licence and ability to travel regularly within the East Kimberley region

Desirable

  • Strong administrator
  • Demonstrated experience in fleet or property management
  • LOGIQC or equivalent QA Software experience
  • Experience working in Aboriginal community-controlled or regional/remote settings
  • Understanding of cultural safety and trauma-informed approaches

☒ Current Australian unrestricted ‘C’ class Driver’s license
