Warehouse Manager – Darra, QLD

Woodhouse Timber Company is a proudly Australian-owned business supplying premium timber building products across QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, SA, and WA.
Operating through an exclusive wholesale distribution network, we partner with leading building material merchants, home centres, and frame & truss manufacturers.
We are now seeking a Warehouse Manager to lead our Darra site, we need someone who takes ownership, leads from the front, and runs a safe, high-performing operation.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the warehouse and site team.
You will lead daily operations while owning the weekly and monthly rhythm of the site — including team performance, inventory accuracy, safety, and customer service outcomes.
You’ll be supported by the Regional Warehouse Operations Manager and work closely with internal teams across Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance (Non-negotiable)
- Lead a strong safety culture — ensuring all staff go home safely every day
- Ensure full compliance with WHS, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and company procedures
- Conduct audits, manage risks, and lead incident investigations
- Maintain licences, equipment compliance, racking integrity, and site safety standards
Leadership & Team Performance
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff and supervisors
- Plan and manage rosters, shifts, and daily workload allocation
- Run weekly team meetings and monthly 1:1s
- Drive accountability, performance, and a positive team culture
Operations & Warehouse Management
- Oversee all inbound and outbound operations (receiving, picking, packing, dispatch)
- Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts and stocktakes
- Ensure correct use of systems (NetSuite ERP & HighJump WMS – no workarounds)
- Coordinate transport, customer pickups, and 3PL interactions
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, stock presentation, and site organisation
Planning & Reporting
- Manage weekly and monthly operational planning
- Track performance against KPIs (accuracy, dispatch, inventory, productivity)
- Submit reports and manage site costs, maintenance, and supplier invoices
About You
You’re a hands-on warehouse leader who takes pride in running a tight, safe, and efficient operation.
You will bring:
- 3–5+years in warehouse leadership (Supervisor or Manager level)
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory, and transport coordination
- Experience with WMS/ERP systems (NetSuite/HighJump highly regarded)
- Solid understanding of WHS and compliance requirements
- A current forklift licence (essential)
- The ability to lead from the front and earn respect on the floor
