Join the Wittner team, one of Australia’s most iconic footwear brands as a Finance Manager. We are looking for a commercially astute and hands-on team member to join the Finance team managing a team of 2.

This is a full-time office-based role working from our Cremorne office.

About the Role

Reporting to the CEO, with a secondary direct line to The Shoe Group CFO, the Finance Manager will play a critical role in leading the finance function and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. 

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our Finance team, being responsible for financial control, reporting, budgeting, compliance and driving commercial insights to support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end finance function, including financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, board reports, and financial analysis.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and tax obligations (BAS, payroll tax, income tax, etc.).
  • Manage external relationships including auditors, banks, and advisors.
  • Provide commercial insights to support retail, eCommerce, and wholesale operations.
  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.

You are a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a dynamic retail environment. You bring strong technical capability balanced with strategic thinking and a hands-on approach. Comfortable operating at both detail and big-picture levels, you enjoy partnering with senior stakeholders to drive performance, improve processes, and support business growth. You are proactive, solutions-focused, and confident leading a team while building strong cross-functional relationships.

Skills and Experience

  • CA/CPA qualified.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior finance role (retail, fashion, or FMCG experience highly regarded).    
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise.
  • Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
  • Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
