Auto Electrician

Wild Desert is a family-owned business founded in Roma in 2005. We are one of Australia’s leading providers of well servicing rigs, transport operations and mobile camps to the oil and gas industry across regional Australia.

Your position as an Auto Electrician will see you working in our workshop and assisting in the field with breakdowns and maintenance as required. Our machinery consists of a vast range of equipment including but not limited to Rigs, Trucks, Trailers and Vehicles.

What’s the Role?

Position: Experienced Auto Electrician

Location: DIDO – Based at our Roma Depot

Roster: 2/2 (Great work/life balance)

Major Responsibilities 

• Perform auto electrical repairs and maintenance work on trucks, trailers, ice packs, rig and camp equipment and other plant and machinery where required
• Repair and maintenance on air conditioning systems in compliance with ARC standards
• Repair and maintenance on IVMS systems in compliance with manufacturer requirements

• Identifying and reporting defects or potential defects with equipment and recommending preventative maintenance
• Design and wire up electric over hydraulic and electric over air systems
• Attend to field breakdown situations when required

Mandatory Requirements

• Cert III in Automotive Technology

• Automotive Air Conditioning Refrigerant Handling Licence

• LR Drivers Licence (Preferred) 

• Full Australian Working Rights

• Strong problem solving and excellent communication skills

• Ability to pass a full pre-employment medical (including drug & alcohol screen)
