Your contribution to the team includes

The Video Producer will be responsible for creating innovative and engaging video and multimedia content for the Western Bulldogs Digital Platforms. This role is also responsible for:

  • Filming, editing and uploading compelling, broadcast quality video content for the Clubs digital media platforms
  • Weekday coverage of AFL, AFLW, VFL and VFLW training sessions, press conferences, player interviews, and media activities
  • Lead the coverage of the AFLW season, working closely with the team to implement and execute the content strategy
  • Produce video content that appeals to identified fan and member segments that will help grow key audience metrics across all digital platforms
  • Creating content to support crowd build, membership campaigns and fan engagement activities
  • Creating content to support commercial partners, coterie groups and Western Bulldogs events
  • Assist in the creation of video content with a lens to commercialise, to provide extra revenue to the business
  • Creating content to support and promote programs and activities run by the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation.
  • Ensure production operations are efficient and compliant, and not disruptive to club operations. 
  • Research and develop opportunities to increase website traffic and video views. 
  • Identify multimedia trends and innovations and implement best practice. 
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, including video production equipment and technologies, camera operation techniques, and trends within video production. 
  • Focus on creating content to support the Club’s strategy on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram Reels and other emerging social media channels.
  • Assist with maintaining video content on the Club’s official digital platforms (website and app), including use of the video management system (VMS). 
  • Assist with posting video content to the Club’s social media channels as required. 
  • Participate in match day and key events as required. 

Skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualified in video production, multimedia or relevant field, with at least one year of industry experience. 
  • Understanding of the sports entertainment industry, the AFL and club landscapes. 
  • Intermediate video editing skills using the Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Intermediate video camera operation skills, experience with equipment drones is advantageous. 
  • A proven ability to deliver content to brief, ensuring work is on brand, consistent to Bulldogs style, tone and quality. 
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects and motion graphics would be considered advantageous.  
  • Knowledge of video encoding and compression techniques for digital and broadcast use. 
  • Audio recording and production skills would be advantageous.  
  • Intermediate Adobe Creative Suite Skills, particularly Photoshop. 
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Outlook skills. 
  • Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (copy writing for website) 
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours under tight deadlines.
