West Daly Regional Council is seeking a motivated and community-focused individual to join our team as a Community Engagement Assistant under the Remote Jobs and Economic Development (RJED) Program.

About the Role

Reporting to the relevant Manager, you will support and coordinate community engagement activities across Wadeye, Peppimenarti, Nganmarriyanga (Palumpa) and surrounding homelands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and strengthen respectful relationships within community
  • Consult with Indigenous community members to identify meaningful initiatives
  • Promote culturally safe and responsive Council programs
  • Assist with community meetings, consultations and engagement activities
  • Strengthen partnerships with local organisations and stakeholders
  • Contribute to embedding community engagement practices within Council

Eligibility (Requirements)

Applicants must meet one or more of the following:

  • A Remote Employment Services (RES) participant
  • A job seeker eligible for RES
  • Located in a RES Region
  • A participant in the New Jobs Program Trial (NJPT) or CDP Trials

Essential Requirements

  • Current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) or ability to obtain
  • National Criminal History Check or ability to obtain
