The Role
Due to continued growth, 4G Metals is seeking an experienced Fitter / Welder to join our high-performing maintenance team.
If you’re mechanically minded, safety-focused, and enjoy working on heavy plant in a fast-paced environment, this is a strong opportunity to join a stable, expanding, proudly Australian-owned business.
What you’ll be doing
As a Fitter / Welder, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing our heavy fixed and mobile plant across the Kemps Creek, Seven Hills, Artarmon and Smithfield 4G Metals sites. You’ll play a key role in ensuring production runs safely and efficiently by:
- Carrying out preventive maintenance and routine inspections
- Diagnosing faults and completing mechanical repairs
- Responding to breakdowns and minimising downtime
- Installing, assembling and testing mechanical components
- Recording work in our MMS Service Manager system
- Supporting continuous improvement and safe work practices
This role is hands-on, fast-paced and essential to our operation.
About You
- Waste Industry / Scrap Metal experience (desirable)
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner (Cert III or similar)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills
- Experience working on heavy plant or industrial equipment
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow specifications
- A proactive, safety-first approach
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Current driver’s licence (required)
- Must be able to travel and work across all 4 Sydney sites.
- HRW licences (Forklift, EWP, Dogging) or welding experience highly regarded
- Able to pass a medical and regular random Drug & Alcohol testing
