Since our inception, we’ve experienced rapid growth, driven by fair pricing, a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, and our ability to deliver quality, timely service.

We are more than a waste management business. At Wanless, we are industry leaders in resource recovery, recycling and sustainable waste solutions. Our mission is to rethink waste, reduce environmental impact, and help businesses and communities transition to a circular economy.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for like-minded individuals who share our passion for sustainability, innovation and making a real difference. Join us and be part of a company that’s shaping the future of waste management in Australia.

The Opportunity

This is not a maintenance role — it’s an opportunity to establish, lead and optimise a new branch.

You will take full accountability for P&L performance, operational delivery, customer outcomes and team leadership, with the autonomy to make decisions and the expectation to deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full P&L ownership including budgeting, forecasting and cost management
  • Drive profitability, margin improvement and revenue growth
  • Oversee end-to-end waste operations, ensuring safety, compliance and service delivery
  • Build and maintain key client relationships, maximising retention and contract value
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within the market
  • Lead, develop and performance-manage a site-based operational team
  • Optimise fleet, labour and site efficiency to improve operational outcomes
  • Champion a strong safety and continuous improvement culture

About You

You are an experienced waste management leader who understands the commercial and operational drivers of a successful branch. You’ve had real ownership of a site or division, with accountability for financial outcomes—not just operations.

What You’ll bring

  • 5 years’ experience as a Branch Manager or Operations Manager within Waste Management (essential)
  • Demonstrated P&L responsibility with proven commercial results
  • Strong knowledge of waste, recycling, transport and/or resource recovery operations
  • Track record of driving profitability, operational efficiency and contract performance
  • Experience managing teams, fleet and site-based logistics
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to grow and retain key accounts
  • A hands-on, accountable leadership style

Why join Wanless?

This is a genuine opportunity to own a site, influence outcomes and be recognised for performance within a business that is growing, investing and backing its leaders.

You’ll be part of a company that is not only commercially driven but also committed to sustainability and shaping the future of waste management in Australia.

If you’re a people-first leader who’s passionate about making a difference in both your workplace and the environment, we’d love to hear from you.
