Make a real impact in a growing manufacturing business.
Are you ready to step up and take ownership of HSEQ in a business that truly values it? Do you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, improving systems, and helping a company grow the right way?
Vital Chemical is an Australian leader in sustainable environmental solutions – from erosion control to water treatment – and we’re looking for an enthusiastic HSEQ Lead who wants to help shape the future of our ambitious manufacturing operation.
This isn’t a ‘sit behind the desk and tick boxes’ role. This is a hands-on opportunity to build, influence, and elevate the way we do things – where your ideas won’t just be heard, they’ll be put into action.
Why you’ll love this role
-
Opportunity for real influence – Shape how HSEQ works across the entire business.
-
Improve, innovate and build – Help put strong systems and processes in place as we grow.
-
True flexibility – We believe in work-life balance.
-
Team environment – Close-knit team, direct decision making, no red tape.
-
Supportive leadership – Your expertise will be valued and relied upon.
About the role
As our HSEQ Lead, you’ll work across the full operation – supporting compliance, strengthening culture, and helping our people and systems evolve as the business grows.
You’ll oversee established frameworks aligned with legislative and ISO standards, while also identifying opportunities for improvement and embedding practical, sustainable solutions.
What you’ll be doing
Compliance and Systems
- Maintain and strengthen internal HSEQ systems aligned with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015
- Support environmental compliance, permits and site requirements.
Audits, Risk and Reporting
- Lead audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Investigate incidents and support corrective and preventative actions.
Culture and Continuous Improvement
- Champion a positive, engaged safety and environmental culture.
- Drive initiatives that enhance safety outcomes, quality and environmental performance.
Training and Team Support
- Deliver HSEQ training across the business.
- Assist with injury management and return-to-work processes.
Sustainability and Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally to support sustainability and operational improvements.
- Keep the organisation aligned with changing regulations and industry standards.
About You
We don’t need someone with decades of experience. We’re looking for someone capable, confident and ready to grow with us.
You will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- Practical HSEQ experience (manufacturing experience highly regarded).
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and ISO 45001/14001.
- ICAM (or similar) investigation training (desired, not essential).
- Experience with return-to-work coordination (advantageous).
- Great communication skills and the confidence to engage with all levels of the business.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- A commitment to building strong relationships and fostering a culture of safety and quality.
Why join Vital Chemical?
- Be part of a forward-thinking, sustainability-driven manufacturing business.
- Enjoy flexibility and work-life balance.
- Join a supportive, collaborative team where your contribution genuinely matters.
- Permanent, full time role with an immediate start available.
