We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Financial Planning Analyst to join our Finance team within a leading civil engineering and utilities infrastructure organisation. This role plays a key part in supporting financial decision-making through high-quality analysis, reporting, and forecasting across complex projects and business operations.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work closely with both finance and wider business stakeholders to deliver timely insights, improve financial processes, and support strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyse financial data including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to assess business and project performance
• Prepare accurate monthly financial reports, management accounts, cost reports, and forecasts with no material errors
• Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and business decision-making
• Assist in the preparation of presentations that provide insightful analysis, highlight risks and opportunities, and clearly frame decisions required by management
• Support budget development and ongoing forecast revisions based on operational, market, and project inputs
• Provide financial modelling support to the finance team and wider business in a timely and accurate manner
• Identify financial risks (e.g. market, interest rate, regulatory) and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies
• Advise on and improve existing financial and business processes, systems, and controls
• Support the planning and implementation of new finance systems, including change management and post-deployment training
• Collaborate with tax advisors to support tax-efficient strategies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• Provide analytical and technical financial support to junior team members when required
• Maintain the highest standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in financial analysis or a similar role
• Strong understanding of financial statements, forecasting, budgeting, and financial modelling
• CPA or CFA qualification highly regarded
• ERP system experience (COINS experience advantageous but not essential)
• Strong financial analysis and modelling capability
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools
