Upper Murray Family Care (UMFC) is seeking an experienced and values-driven Team Leader for our Family Relationship Services (FRS) to provide leadership across several important
programs supporting families and children.
This role oversees the delivery of services including:
- Children’s Contact Service (CCS)
- Parenting Orders Program (POP)
- Financial Counselling and Capability
As part of the Family Relationship Services leadership group, you will provide operational oversight,
staff supervision and contribute to service development to ensure high-quality outcomes for families experiencing separation and conflict.
About the Role
The FRS Team Leader is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of designated programs through:
- Leadership of practitioners across CCS, POP and Financial Counselling
- Reflective supervision and staff development
- Ensuring program delivery meets contractual and funding requirements
- Strengthening service quality and practice standards
- Supporting staff working with complex family law matters
- Building strong relationships with courts, legal services and community partners
- Contributing to service planning and program development
This is a leadership role requiring both operational coordination and practice oversight, supporting staff working with families experiencing separation, conflict, family violence, and other complex issues.
About You
You are an experienced professional who can lead teams while maintaining a strong commitment to client outcomes and staff wellbeing.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Community Welfare or similar
- Demonstrated leadership experience within child and family services
- Experience coordinating program delivery within funded service frameworks
- Strong people leadership and performance management capability
- Experience supporting staff working with complex family law matters
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong emotional intelligence and reflective practice
- Management qualifications or additional leadership training are highly regarded.
