Upper Murray Family Care (UMFC) is seeking a qualified Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) to join our Family Relationship Services team. This role supports families experiencing separation and conflict by facilitating dispute resolution and helping parents develop practical, child-focused agreements.
About the Role
As a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, you will provide professional mediation and support services to families navigating separation. You will work with clients through intake, assessment and dispute resolution processes while ensuring services are delivered in accordance with the Family Law Act (1975) and program guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct client intake, screening and assessment
- Facilitate Family Dispute Resolution sessions and mediation processes
- Support families to develop parenting plans and resolve disputes
- Ensure services prioritise the best interests of the child and family safety
- Issue Section 60I certificates in accordance with legislative requirements
- Maintain accurate client records and meet DSS reporting requirements
- Collaborate with internal programs and external services to support families
About You
You will bring:
- Accreditation (or eligibility for accreditation) as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner
- Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, counselling, law or a related field
- Experience working with families experiencing separation or conflict
- Strong mediation, communication and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of family law, family violence risk assessment and child-focused practice
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload
