About you
You’re a compassionate, reliable and energetic person who genuinely cares about supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds to build their confidence, social skills and emotional wellbeing. You bring lived experience and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people, and you’re able to use this insight to connect with them in a meaningful, respectful way.
You’re comfortable building rapport with children, encouraging their participation, and supporting them to engage in a range of prosocial, recreational and educational activities. You enjoy being active, working directly with groups, and contributing positively to a safe and supportive program environment.
You work well as part of a team, communicate effectively with children and colleagues, and demonstrate strong self-awareness and emotional intelligence. You’re able to reflect on your practice, maintain appropriate boundaries, and adapt your approach to meet the needs of each child. Previous experience working with children or young people or a strong understanding of the issues impacting disadvantaged children is essential.
To be successful in this role, you will also hold (or be willing to obtain) all required compliance documents, including a Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance, a valid WA Driver’s Licence, and work eligibility within Australia.
