About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Regional Capacity Building Case Worker to deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive support to Grandcarers raising their grandchildren full-time across regional Western Australia. You will work closely with families and community partners to assess needs, coordinate services, and strengthen local capacity in areas including the Goldfields, Great Southern, Southwest and Wheatbelt.
In this role, you will build strong stakeholder relationships, deliver workshops and events, promote the Uplyft Grandcare Program, and ensure Grandcarer voices inform advocacy and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, person-centred support and help connect families with the services they need to achieve sustainable outcomes.
About you
You are a qualified and experienced practitioner committed to supporting families with complex needs. You hold a degree in Social Work or Allied Mental Health and are eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers or a relevant professional body. You bring substantial experience in family assessment, trauma-informed practice, and working sensitively with Aboriginal families and diverse communities.
You have a strong understanding of family functioning, child development, the impact of trauma, and effective parenting supports. You are confident delivering training and presentations, and have experience in research, evaluation or continuous improvement activities.
An effective communicator, you build positive relationships with families, students, volunteers and multidisciplinary teams. You demonstrate high-level written and verbal skills, excellent administrative and problem-solving abilities, and sound computer literacy. You also have a solid understanding of the National Child Safe Principles and are committed to safe, respectful and culturally responsive practice.
