About the role
We’re in search of an individual who can seamlessly integrate into our team as a Building Assessor. The role will cover the Mornington Peninsula and South Eastern suburbs. You’ll work closely with our insurance partners, providing accurate cost estimates and setting clear project timelines. With a strong focus on collaboration, our hands-on leadership team is here to support you every step of the way. The core of this position lies in taking ownership of reinstatement, rebuild, and refurbishment projects specifically to:
- Conduct on-road or desktop assessments for residential buildings insured by insurers, covering damages from weather events, floods, fires, malicious damage, impacts, and escape of liquid.
- Utilise photos and videos to assess damages, estimate repair costs, and draft comprehensive reports for clients, including findings on claims, pre-existing damage, builder faults, and maintenance issues.
- Quantify repairs and determine the optimal repair method.
- Assess liability on behalf of insurers as authorised.
- Accurately identify and detail building construction materials
- Identify any areas of non-compliance with Australian Standards.
- Collaborate with specialist trades to investigate and report on the cause of damage.
About you
- Minimum two years’ experience in residential insurance space
- Strong building knowledge and virtual assessment expertise
- Delivers detailed claim assessments and cost-effective scopes
- Confident interpreting policy, building codes, and standards
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in desktop and mobile applications
- Takes ownership of workplace safety and leads by example
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are a must
- Ability to juggle competing priorities, with an ability to influence outcomes in a positive and professional way.
