Female Disability Support Worker – Jindalee

Summary:

Tuley is seeking a professional, compassionate female-identified Support Worker to assist a socially isolated woman in her 40s living with chronic pain, psychosocial needs, and parenting responsibilities. This role involves personal care, household support, parenting assistance, and structured capacity-building, delivered within clear professional boundaries. Your focus will be on helping the participant maintain her independence, care for her children safely, and build sustainable social connections beyond paid supports. The ideal candidate can offer warmth and kindness while upholding the boundaries essential to preventing over-reliance and fostering long-term empowerment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide structured daily support that promotes independence and healthy routines.
• Assist with personal care tasks, ensuring dignity, safety, and consistency.
• Support the participant with parenting responsibilities, including routines, organisation, and modelling safe, boundaried interactions.
• Maintain clear professional boundaries to support emotional safety and prevent dependency.
• Assist with capacity-building, including skills development, confidence-building, and community participation.
• Support the participant in managing chronic pain and psychosocial needs through practical, respectful assistance.
• Work respectfully within a family home, supporting both the participant and her children as required.
• Engage in activities that promote well-being, such as light outdoor activities, community outings, or artistic pursuits.

Qualifications:

• Experience in disability, psychosocial, or community support (preferred but not essential).
• Understanding of chronic pain, mental health, or complex social needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to maintain professional boundaries and encourage independence.
• Comfortable supporting personal care and parenting needs in a family home.
• Willingness to participate in community activities and support the participant’s interests.
