Job Title: Disability Support Worker

Job Summary:

Tuley, a family-owned disability support organisation in Perth and is seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to provide trauma-informed and person-centred support to individuals with disabilities. This casual role involves assisting a friendly woman in her 40s to live independently and build connections within her community. Training is provided for candidates who demonstrate the right values and attributes.

At the participant’s request, Tuley seeks Mature (age 40 +) & Experienced Disability Support Workers to join our fantastic team in Ridgewood. This position will be for an immediate start, and shifts are currently 9 am – 4 pm Monday – Friday, although they may be extended to weekends in the near future.

Skills and attributes:

– Passion for inclusion and social connection

– Strong interpersonal and motivational skills

– Love for animals, especially dogs and cats

– Has an interest in arts and crafts – particularly diamond art

– Enjoys walking, dancing and swimming

– Ability to maintain professional boundaries

– Flexibility and ability to work well under pressure

– Team player mentality

– Previous experience supporting people with the management of diabetes (subcutaneous injections), seizures and low immunity.

Responsibilities:

– Provide person-centred support to help individuals with disabilities live independently

– Assist in building meaningful connections within the local community

– Support the individual in daily activities as needed

– Maintain a safe and supportive environment

– Implement strategies for managing challenging behaviours

Requirements

– Ability and willingness to be flexible and work shifts during the evening and weekend if needed.

– Experience managing diabetes and Sub Cut training (or willingness to obtain this)

– Proof of COVID immunisations, and at the treating specialist’s and family’s request, the willingness to have a yearly booster.

– A good level of fitness

– Current Driver’s License and road-worthy vehicle

– NDIS Worker Screening Check

– Police Check

– Experienced in manual handling, behavioural management and/or supporting people with impaired hearing and vision.
