Business Operations Manager

Cremorne, Victoria 3121, Australia • Full-time

Description

Business Operations Manager

Trustport is looking to appoint a Business Operations Manager to join our team.

This is not a traditional administrative or back-office role. We are seeking a hands-on, highly organised operator to join us as an early team member and become the operational engine of the business. You will act as a critical link between our founders, our customers, and our product — ensuring the business runs smoothly while we scale.

This role goes beyond coordination or task management. You will help drive key initiatives across the company, coordinate customer pilots and go-to-market activity, and ensure operational discipline as we grow. Your mission will be to support the founders by handling a wide breadth of operational responsibilities, freeing them up to focus on building a scalable business.

About Trustport

Trustport is setting the standard for how money is protected and moved in property. We sit across financial services, payments, and property, and regulation is core to how we have designed the business.

Today, large amounts of client money still flow through agent-controlled trust accounts. They are expensive to manage, difficult to oversee, and increasingly exposed to fraud and compliance pressure. Trustport replaces this with a centralised platform that handles the movement of funds across the property transaction lifecycle, reducing risk and improving transparency for agents, consumers, and regulators.

What you will do

  • Operational Execution: Act as the central nervous system for the business. Coordinate logistics, manage internal workflows, and ensure the team is operating efficiently and productively. This includes coordinating with customers, investors, and internal stakeholders, while managing day-to-day operational tasks across the company.

  • Project Coordination & Delivery: Coordinate and track key strategic initiatives across the business. Ensure projects remain on schedule, particularly as we work with our pilot customers and continue developing our product and operational model.

  • Founder & Executive Support: Support the CEO and leadership team with key operational needs, including meeting coordination, scheduling, preparation of materials, and assisting with the development and distribution of board packs.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Customer Support: Work closely with customers to help bring the product to life. Support customer onboarding, training, and troubleshooting, helping address objections and feedback that inform product decisions.

  • Go-To-Market Support: Assist in executing early go-to-market activities, helping coordinate product launches, pilot programs, and early customer engagement initiatives.

  • Operational Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and areas of friction across the business, and implement practical solutions to improve speed, clarity, and execution as the company grows. Build and document scalable processes across the business. This includes developing internal operational workflows as well as external-facing processes that support customers and partners.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a highly organised operator who thrives in early-stage environments and enjoys solving complex problems across multiple areas of the business.

  • Startup Mindset: Comfortable working in ambiguity and able to build structure where none exists. You are proactive, pragmatic, and capable of wearing multiple hats in a fast-moving environment.

  • Operational Discipline: Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, stakeholders, and timelines simultaneously.

  • Strong Communication Skills: An excellent written and verbal communicator who can coordinate effectively across founders, customers, and partners.

  • Problem-Solving Orientation: Naturally curious and solutions-focused, able to identify operational challenges and implement practical improvements.

  • Customer Awareness: Comfortable working directly with customers and translating customer feedback into actionable insights for the business.

Preferred experience

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, consulting, startup operations, project management, or business management roles.

  • Exposure to fintech, payments, SaaS or property related industries.

  • Experience working in early-stage startups or fast-growing companies.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional projects or managing operational initiatives.

  • Experience working closely with founders or executive teams.

What we offer

  • Early Team Impact: Be an early hire with real influence over how customers experience our product and how our operations function scales as the company grows.

  • Career Growth: This role is designed to evolve. You will have the opportunity to grow into different areas of the business such as operations leadership, product management, customer success, or go-to-market roles depending on your interests and the needs of the company.

  • Impactful Work: Your work will directly disrupt an antiquated, high-risk, and expensive process, creating a safer and more efficient solution for an entire industry.

  • Flexibility: We offer a remote-friendly environment, and access to a co-working space and gym membership.
